Hi
I think it’s very necessary to limit the number of comment that shown in the activities . and if someone like to read full of them he/she can open them in a new window .

Keep your eye on #2768 for an admin option to do this.

#2587 is an attempt to use javascript to toggle the number of activity comments seen. Needs updating though.

Also, you could consider modifying your theme to remove activity comments from the activity entry template so they can only be viewed on the activity permalink page.
