#6755 closed defect (bug) (wontfix)

Post Update button should visible always

Description

We need to click on the postarea in order to make Post Update button appear. Honestly I think BuddyPress should make this button appear without clicking on postarea textbox.

Unlike BuddyPress, Facebook and Twitter always showing up a 'Post' or 'Tweet' button, we don't need to click on postarea

This was a design choice made on a separate set of templates (actually, an entire theme) called "BP Default" and this effect probably made more sense there. When we ported BP Default into the current template set ("BP Legacy"), we kept this JS feature intact to avoid an inconsistency during that template migration, and it's also the reason why we have to be very careful and considered of the consequences when changing the current templates.

Current sites running BuddyPress may desire this feature, or have other code or features in place in their theme to further customise this area, and the risk of removing this element today is that we somehow break or damage someone's site, which is something we don't want to do. Our general approach to things like this is to resist changing BP Legacy, and keep what we have for the time being.

We do appreciate the patch -- thank you @pareshradadiya -- and sometime in 2016 when I expect we will finally be building out a new set of default templates for BuddyPress, I would be surprised if this feature made it into the new theme. :)
