Description

The ability to register an account simply by logging in via HTTP AUTH would be a big plus. BuddyPress can then make use of existing credentials.

Users can fill in their profile once they are logged in and their account has been created.

Bearing in mind the age of the ticket, I'm not going to comment other than to say this is probably something that nowadays you might expect to be an option in an LDAP plugin.
