Oon http://testbp.org/groups/somegroup/admin/edit-details/ we can enter some "Recent News". Since BP 1.2 new deafault theme these aren't displayed anymore.
I would suggest to hide "Recent News" in BP 1.2 default theme or to integrate them in header.
