PHP 8.6 has not been released yet, but it'll be released soon (see ​https://wiki.php.net/todo/php86).

There are already issues to be resolved based on #9340 and ​https://github.com/buddypress/buddypress/pull/441

Core already made some preliminary changes to support it. See ​wp:#65637 and ​wp:#65143
