Welcome Widget Saving Incorrectly

Note: I'm using WPMU 2.8.1 beta

When I use the Welcome widget and add a custom title and custom text and proceed to save everything is lost.

Well, oddly enough, not all is lost. Instead the title and textarea are both replaced with the first letter that was used in the textarea.

Example:
Title: Testing This Out
Welcome Text: Hello World

...then hit save, and the widget refreshes and outputs:

Title: H
Welcome Text: H

[(none)]
