Description

I've just noticed WordPress Core now includes a README.md and a SECURITY.md files into trunk. I think it would be a good idea to do the same. The README.md would be a nice place to explain how to contribute to BuddyPress.

I’m Ok with this.

WordPress is doing it because that project is going to migrate to using GitHub for working on fixing security issues.

If we want to do the same, let’s discuss that in a meeting to coincide with this idea.

I like very much of this idea.

  • Keywords has-patch added; needs-patch removed
  • Milestone changed from Awaiting Contributions to 7.0.0

In 8164.patch, I've used and adapted the WordPress README.md file according to our specificities and I've used the Gutenberg's SECURITY.md file as a model.

In 12743:

Add README.md and SECURITY.md files to the project

  • The README.md file informs about how to start contributing to BuddyPress.
  • The SECURITY.md file informs about how to report security issues.
