Description

A cool feature that would make Buddypress better for all themes would be the ability to add a BuddyPress avatar and drop down menu (just like in the header of the BuddyPress support forum) which you could place in a WordPress menu via the WordPress menu settings.

Using menus to add the logged in users profile avatar and a drop-down menu would obviously make most themes easier to use. BuddyPress users won't have to use widgets which may or may not appear on certain pages to navigate to buddypress profiles, settings and notifications making navigation better and more social media-esque.

You can already create custom menus in the WP admin dashboard's "Appearance > Menus" page.

We just don't have an entry for the logged-in user's avatar at the moment.

Cool idea! Drop-down menu is going to be too site-specific, but having a way to add the current user's avatar into a menu item is neat.
