Description
We can include new notification called Birthday Notification. Since we are the one plugin that is mostly considered when someone is going to build a community site then we can provide some more features to our users.
For this, we can let users map DOB Field in BuddyPress and then we can send automatic notification on that date.
It will be a great addition to BuddyPress, I think.

It will be great if we will include it in BuddyPress itself, will be a good addition there.
People do have DOB fields and if we will include birthday notifications then it will be a treated as a great gesture from members when they will receive birthday wishes from community owners.
A step towards a great community!
We can take others opinions as well.

I'm not sure. I mean, what about special dates that aren't birthdays? Anniversaries, perhaps?
we can send automatic notification on that date.
This part is not something we would want in the main BuddyPress plugin.

I think we do not have anniversary kind of notification anywhere. Friendship anniversary is there but they create a post for that. We already have a date field and our users do use it for birthday so we can use that for birthday notifications. As we have discussed earlier that we can ask them to choose if this is DOB field or not and on the basis of that this can be done.
It would probably be better to add a "Is this a birthday date field?" checkbox to the existing Date field and then it would be possible to build out the notification either in Core or as a separate plugin.
