Permisions problems in blogs.dir folder

Description
Hello,
Im cannot setup permissions 777 to the folder wp-content/blogs.dir. Im trying with the FTP option and with the Terminal SSH, and it say me: Permission Denied.
Without this permissions I cant upload images.
Someone knows the solution?

Probably because the owner of the file or folder you are trying to change is owned by a different user account than the one you are logging into. You might need to talk to your host and get their help, or otherwise post on the buddypress forums (not this bug reporting system).
