Site Notices not working

Hello. I'm using BuddyPress 3.0.0 and WordPress 4.9.6. I'm using theme Twenty Fifteen. My problem is that I can't create a site notice to be displayed on the sidebar of my site for all logged-in members. I was able to do that using BP Legacy. I'm using Nouveau right now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have to switch back permanently. Also, I've tried doing this with other browsers but with the same result; I'm using FireFox right now. And I've deactivated all other plugins with the same result.

1) In the dashboard find: Users > Site Notices.
2) Create a new notice using the two boxes and click on "Publish Notice."
3) At the top of the page you'll see "Notice successfully created."
4) Go back to the site and see if that notice is visible in the sidebar.

This is the wall I keep running into: The notice is not there.

@richardrcook2 Currently sitewide notices are only supported in the users account screens, the ability to have them in a sidebar was via the BP sitewide widget we provided and that was partly to offset issue for some themes where sitewide notices were displayed in a theme as absolute positioned elements possibly overlaying other critical elements such as menus.

Nouveau dosn't have the widget but we could look at introducing it for Nouveau as an enhancement.

@hnla Thank you so much for your prompt reply! I did see the notice in my account screen, just not the sidebar. It would be great, though, if you folks could add the widget. I'm afraid that some users would log in but not go into their account screens and then miss an important notice. I appreciate your help!
