Hi

A killer feature for us would be the ability to group a set blogs together so that we can get global RSS and alerts filter by that subset of sites the blogs

e.g. we could group all the blogs for a dept/location

The blogs portion has nothing to do with BuddyPress, and is controlled by MU. Also, this is currently done via the blog topics plugin.
