Cropping image improvements

Description

Is it possible to improve the cropping function for it to be more flexible? As for now when the cropping box comes up you can only make a small or a big crop. When you click the sides the crop box it will just expand to the entire image (big crop). If you dont touch it you will just get the small crop of your image.

Im thinking if its possible to make this up- and down scale more flexible so it wont expand to the entire image once you click the sides and pull a little bit. What Im looking for is being able to crop with just the right amount of zoom that the user prefer for his/hers profileimage and/or thumb.

I've seen alot of cropping functions out there that can give you this image-zoom flexibility.

Also, I got a script error when cropping a jpg today. See screenshot.

The cropbox looks funny.

  • Milestone changed from Core 1.0 to Future Enhancements

This happens when you upload an image less that 150x150px.

The cropper is quite limited, this will be addressed in a future release.

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from new to closed

The cropper uses a different Javascript in BP 1.1/trunk, so hopefully most of the problems have gone away.
