#688 closed enhancement (no action required)

The language resource for "Admin" must be separated

Reported by: lilyfan's profile lilyfan Owned by:
Milestone: 1.2 Priority: major
Severity: normal Version:
Component: Core Keywords: needs-patch

The word "Admin" is used at three point in 1.0-RC2

  • bp-core/bp-core-adminbar.php:102
  • bp-core/bp-core-adminbar.php:115
  • bp-groups.php:261

But, this word has double meanings. In bp-core-adminbar.php, "Admin" means the role of a user. In bp-groups.php, "Admin" means the action for the group.

For some language, the translation must be separated for the situation. In Japanese, "Admin" for adminbar.php is translated as "管理者" (administrator), and "Admin" for groups.php is translated as "管理" (administration).

I suggest that use "Administrator" for adminbar.php. Because WPMU 2.7 uses the lang resource "Administrator|User Role" for this perpose.

This is something that can easily be handled with your BP translation file.

Ignore the above statement. Realized what you were talking about, but I forgot to erase the comment, before I added needs-patch.
