Description

Some buddypress site are facing the problem with profile picture because of some bad fellows, they are uploading irrelevant profile pictures like porn images, celebrities pictures in professional community websites, admin can't check all users profile pictures frequently, hence i request to include an option in settings page by which whenever users uploads his avatar it should be approved by admin before goes to public, and also include an option to enter some admin message which must appeared in user's "change profile picture" page so that admin can inform some message to the user's before they upload avatar.
Thanks

Hi GKK,

I understand the situation.
Today from the BuddyPress settings you can completely disable avatar user uploads.
But i think your suggestion is interesting. I'm going to check the trac to see if there's not a relative ticket about this It seems to be the first one about this subject, i'll work on a patch about it.

  • Priority changed from highest to normal
  • Severity changed from major to minor

As this has, as noted, never been flagged before as an issue the status can't really be considered Severity 'Major' or Priority 'Highest'; this sounds more like a particular user case. While we'll all acknowledge admin options are nice to have, email notifications and general site modifications do go some way to managing something like this.

We're closing this ticket because it has not received any contribution or comments for at least two years. We have decided that it is better to close tickets that are good ideas, which have not gotten (or are unlikely to get) contributions, rather than keep things open indefinitely. This will help us share a more realistic roadmap for BuddyPress with you.

Everyone very much appreciates the time and effort that you spent sharing your idea with us. On behalf of the entire BuddyPress team, thank you.

If you feel strongly that this enhancement should still be added to BuddyPress, and you are able to contribute effort towards it, we encourage you to re-open the ticket, or start a discussion about it in our Slack channel. Please consider that time has proven that good ideas without contributions do not get built.

This feature is much needed. Admin should be able to

  1. Delete any User Profile photo already there on the site
  2. Approve any new Profile photo before it is live
  3. This prevents deleting or banning a member - just because an inappropriate photo was put up.
Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
