Joining a Group while you have an outstanding invite to that Group

Seems that if you are invited to a Group, fail to see the invite, then join the Group on your own, you have an invite that won't accept properly. If you click Accept, throws an error that you are unable to join. if you reject, you are removed from the group you just joined.

Perhaps the solution can be either:

1. notify the member that he actually has an invite waiting a reply when he tries to join or
2. automatically dismiss teh invite if the Group is joined independently
