Comment on Images not showing in the Activity stream

WP 4.1 - Enable Multisite & Enable BP 2.1.1 or later
Add New Post
Under 'Format', check Gallery
Click 'Add Media'
Now click "Create Gallery" link in left hand bar
Now choose and select some images
Then click the button "Create a new gallery"
Gallery Settings
Link To Attachment page
Now click the button "Insert gallery"
Enter a title and Publish
Now View post
Now Click on a thumbnail - it will take you to an image page with Previous Image Next Image links
There is a comment form to put your comments for the image
Write a comment "Nice image"
It shows immediately under the image in that image page
IT DOES NOT show up in the BP Activity stream

ronia, are you using Jetpack Galleries and Comments on your site?

I am using default wordpress comments ( as in self-hosted wordpress). Jetpack Likes is enabled/disabled - same results. I will check what Galleries.

Tried duplicating on twentyfifteen, but twentyfifteen doesn't allow you to comment on attachment items. Are you using a plugin to enable comments on attachment items or some type of attachment / gallery plugin?

Also, this might be related to #5669 where we added activity support for custom post types. You could try adding support for the attachment post type by reading this codex article:
