Activity transforms links to js

I have comments displaying in Activity page.

Replied to one of the comments on a site with several links, particularly:

So links became scripts inclusions. I don't have any plugins that are activity-related and modifies its content.

r-a-y and I have tried to recreate this, but we can't -- which makes us suspect it's something to do with your theme (maybe a custom template) or some other plugin or code snippet you have running. I'd recommend that you consider disabling your activity component until we get to the bottom of this.

Can you recreate this on a clean install of BuddyPress, using one of the default WordPress themes? Happy to help debug this with you; feel free to reach me on Skype.

I'm using the compatibility layer of BuddyPress, so no custom BuddyPress templates at all.
Can't replicate this behaviour on 2012 theme.

If it isn't happening on 2012, can you check your theme's functions.php for anything that is filtering any content? Also check the activity meta table and see anything that might be associated with that activity item. Perhaps oEmbed or embed-related?

You are right, embed-related. New lesson - don't believe in code copy-pasted even from quite reliable sites. *sigh*
