Description

Activity feeds for each Group would be useful. i.e. A 'new members' feed, a 'group wire' feed,'forum activity feed' and an 'all group activity' feed. It would allow people to keep up with group activity without checking the Group Wire page.

By 'feed' I assume we mean RSS feed, right?

For the moment, you can use http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-lotsa-feeds/ for this purpose.

The generation of RSS feeds in BuddyPress needs some serious TLC. I'm not sure if there will be time between now and 1.3 to make this happen. For the moment I'll leave the milestone of 1.3 and hope that I (or someone else) find the time to regularize feed creation a bit more by the time 1.3 is ready.

  • Milestone changed from 1.3 to Future Release

I feel guilty about punting a two-year old ticket, but...

  • Component changed from Core to Activity
  • Keywords needs-patch added; group activity feed removed
  • Severity set to normal

  • Resolution set to fixed
  • Status changed from new to closed

We now have all group activity feed, and all site activity feed.
New members feed is part of all site activity.
Group forums have Subscribe feature (bbPress 2.5 built-in feature).
Group wires are gone.

So I'm closing this ticket.
If somebody needs part of this functionality - lets then open a new ticket with more up-to-date feature description (based on the modern needs and codebase).
