Display user nicename in tooltips instead full name

[Dianakc]

Hello,

I was asked how to know usernames across the website without visiting their profiles, so we are able to mention people more easily.

Right now, we have to visit the user profile to know their nicenames (see image)

The suggestion is to display the nicename/mention name in the tooltip instead the full username.

Thanks a lot!

There are a few plugins that offer a tooltip feature.

See:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-hovercards/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/cd-bp-avatar-bubble/

If you want to use usernames instead of display names for the anchor text, you could try:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/buddypress-usernames-only

Closing as wontfix.
