Description

Hi :)

I would suggest to remove titles for private messaging. Infact sometimes they are really unuseful and boring that may result in titles like ":)" or "hey" or "hi!"... you know what I mean :P

According to my opinion also facebook, that in their private messages removed titles, and Twitter too in direct messages... this is the trend, in my opinion a right decision.

What do you think about?

I don't think BP would gain anything by removing titles from Messages, but I'd like a second opinion.

Probably valid at some point. Would certainly make the component easier to use, though some of the threading would disappear, and users would just have endless conversations instead of being able to easily tell separate ones apart.

Moving to Future Release.

I think titles should stay because of the threading and fact that having them on some messages works. It feels like titles work for this instance. Maybe a type of message could happen and then no titles would work but that feels 'overboard'.

  • Milestone Future Release deleted
  • Resolution set to wontfix
  • Status changed from new to closed

So, titles are left, and in my opinion they should stay as is.
Also because no one showed interest in working with UI without titles (which is rather hard) and in general in making this improvement - I'm closing the ticket as wontfix.

Also consider, that messages are not chat (not a proper technology used for them), so we should not consider them being title-less because of the chat-alike idea behind them.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
