Description

more than half of my members show up on the user's list but not the member's directory. They disappeared when I upgraded to 1.6. Please help me get them back on the member's directory so I don't end up losing any of them.

Please clarify what "the user's list" is. Do you mean Dashboard > Users?

Are you certain that those users appeared in the Members Directory before you upgraded? Are you certain that those users have logged into your WP/BP installation at some point?

If you have access to the database, check to see whether all of your members have a value in the wp_usermeta table with the key 'last_activity' - BuddyPress uses this value to determine whether to show a WP user in the Members Directory. However, this logic hasn't changed in BP 1.6.

Closing ticket as haven't heard from original reporter in 3 months. As Boone says, this logic didn't change in 1.6, but I think it did back around 1.5ish; perhaps yazkuball upgraded to 1.6 from a version prior to 1.5. We see this issue on the forums (upgrade from a pre-1.6 version and members "disappearing", as described) but there wasn't a noticeable increase in reports for 1.6.
