Description
We would like the ability to make a Discussion Group sticky -- to always appear first in the list.
Thank you for considering this as an enhancement.

Thank you @rachelbaker. I hope the Trac Team will consider this enhancement in a future release.

- Component changed from Core to Groups
- Milestone changed from Awaiting Review to Future Release
- Priority changed from normal to low
- Severity changed from normal to minor
I'm tempted to say that this is best left to a plugin or theme (sticky logic is complex and ugly, and I'm not sure it would have much use in the case of group directories), but I'll put the ticket into Future Release for further discussion.

Ok, thanks @boonebgorges. Based on the way we are using our private social intranet, there is great utility to have "sticky" capabilities across the entire spectrum of discussion groups and forum threads.
We vote "yes" for making this an enhancement, if/when possible.

- Keywords close added
I would also say this should be handled in a plugin.
Or you could add a custom group loop above the fold so it is always shown and then omit the stickied groups from the Groups Directory by modifying the group query.

We might consider to move back to this later, when we will have a better capabilities (and not very basic like it's now).
There are also some complications with UI and access in admin area for those, that might have this capability, but not managing groups (deleting) in general.
And on front-end - it will require tweaking our logic for accessing all groups by admins only in some places. As a user with such cap will need to go to a special page in group admin area on front-end to manage sticky option.
