Description
Traditionally, user data (username, name, nickname, password, etc.) have been managed through the admin side of WordPress. BuddyPress does a great job of adding a whole new way of managing a user. However, now information is in two places and limited in the WP backend.
I think it would be great if all user data was displayed via the BuddyPress interface AND the WP backend interface.

This is probably plugin territory and will most likely not be in the core. Like you said BuddyPress is largely theme dependent, and as much as possible is being left out of the WP admin dashboard area.
Closed as wontfix. Feel free to reopen for discussion.
