After upgrading to the latest wordpress, my buddypress installation no longer allows users or admins to change their password or sends verification emails to new users.

Please list your BP versions. The password issue should be fixed in BP 1.5.3.1. You'll have to be more specific about what "verification emails" means (in WP Multisite, these are not handled by BP at all).

Closing ticket because this should be fixed in 1.5.3.1, like Boone said. If the issue persists once on WP 3.3+ and BP 1.5.3.1, you can re-open the ticket.
