Description

In all activity feeds, the [READ MORE] link is working on original posts/updates, but not on comments on posts/updates. So it's not possible to read the full text of longer comments.

I can't reproduce on testbp.org or on my local installations. Are you using a custom theme?

You marked 1.2.10 as the version where this problem was experienced. But the 'read more' feature didn't exist in 1.2.10. Are you sure you've got that right?

I have this issue as well. Using BP 1.5.1, Custom Community Pro Theme (0.6), latest WP Install. For me, the link works on general updates, but not on activity updates that are replies to forum topic posts.

I can give you login info as needed, privately of course.

  • Keywords reporter-feedback added

Can't duplicate this myself either on bp-default. I believe it's a problem with the Custom Community Pro theme.

@ketubahdiva / @peeld - If you switch to the BuddyPress Default theme, does the "Read More" link work on activity comments?

When I switch to the BuddyPress Default theme, the "Read More" link is an ellipsis in square brackets, [...], and it's not live either.

  • Resolution set to invalid

@peeld - That is expected behaviour for forum posts. There is a ticket for that open (#3715); please follow that ticket for updates.

Based on your feedback, I am going to close this ticket. Please contact the devs at ThemeKraft to fix their theme:

  • Resolution changed from invalid to fixed

(In [5566]) Defines BP_PLUGIN_DIR fallback based on WP_PLUGIN_DIR rather than plugin_dir_path(), the latter of which causes problems for symlinks and IIS installations. Fixes #3722

Whoops, typo in commit message. This issue remains invalid.
