Description

how to let my private messages appears immediately so i will not refresh the page every second i mean to be like facebook it will refresh automatic so the private messages appears immediately

This is a good suggestion, but it is neither a bug, nor is it critical :)

Yes, heartbeat candidate, but for now it should only be implemented on the messages page itself - we should be careful about using heartbeat extensively through the front-end UI, as it can potentially cause resource issues. (Eg there was a ticket requesting heartbeat-like functionality for the notification count in the admin bar, which is a nice idea, but would require pings to happen constantly on every single page for every logged in user.)

Yeah, read that ticket, and totally agree regarding messages page only.
Also I think all messages that came via heartbeat on thread page should be marked as read, thus they won't appear in notifications on page refresh.

Taking into the account the upcoming new template pack, it seems more appropriate to implement this for a new one only. So bp-legacy won't have this feature.
