Is your site public? Can you share a link?

If you can't share a link, can you at least share the part of the URL that comes after your domain? For example, /groups/my-group-name/ Is the URL rendered in Chinese characters?

My site is still a local test. The part of the URL that comes after my domain is : /groups/文化/.After the "groups" is Chinese. When I copy the link to a new window and press Enter,it said Page Not Found. However, it's OK when in the original window to refresh.
I think this is a bug compatible with Chinese language.

I've tested on my local installation, and it seems to be working properly.

What's the character encoding on your database tables?

Do you have similar problems with regular WordPress URLs? For instance, if you use Chinese characters for the name of a blog post, is the last part of the URL rendered in Chinese? And does it work properly when cutting and pasting?

Finally, I wonder if this is a browser issue, as I noticed that the URL encoding flashed while copying/pasting in Firefox. What is your browser/OS?

It works for me, too. As Boone asked, what's the character encoding on your database tables, please?

Works for me as well.

Tested on BP 1.7. Character encoding for the wp_bp_groups table is the same as livemeorg's.

livemeorg: Are you still running into this bug?

I vote close on this one, unless someone else can recreate in 2.6.

Cannot replicate this either, tested in 2.6 and 2.5 with the characters from https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/3616#comment:3 and the encoding mentioned above and all works fine for me :)

  • Milestone Future Release deleted
  • Resolution set to worksforme
  • Status changed from new to closed

Closing this as works for me since there hasn't been any more cases of this for five years and many people have tested it (myself included) and it works for them.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
