@r-a-y yes, exactly :) and that is why I preferred to post it in a topic rather here because I feel bad posting tickets that are not valid :) as I said in topic, SergeyBiryukov kindly helped with a plugin to allow Arabic usernames which worked for single wordpress, so I thought there could be a way to fix it for buddypress too.
For the consolation..the funny thing is..It's not working in display name too :) I just tested it when you mentioned it, and it never change to Arabic at all.

Are you guys talking about WordPress' "display name" or do you mean BuddyPress' Profile Fields' default "Name" field?

The second, BuddyPress' Profile Fields' default "Name" field
It can't be set to Arabic too, which wordpress "display name " successfully do in my single blog, Any idea why the " default name field " doesn't accept Arabic although other custom profile fields I made accept Arabic normally?
I have an idea in mind, perhaps you can think of at later stage, why don't you separate the username that appear in URL from the actual username that people login with? so that the URL stay in English, but the username can be flexibly changed to any language without problems.

@ r-a-y , what version this screenshot from? as I'm using 1.5
well, it worked with a strange fix after many tries, I just changed the name of " name profile field" and now display name can be set to Arabic :s well, guess this can do the job for now, Thanks so much :)
BTW, just as a side note for testbp, I don't know what version testbp.org is using, but I did a test account there today and tried Arabic, you can see the result, question marks at anywhere you try to add Arabic, perhaps there is a problem there you want to fix:

Thanks again for your help, r-a-y

@walid3 - I used v1.5-RC-1 on a local install, but I see this doesn't work on testbp.org.
I'm not running any special plugins that override the (display) name. Can anyone else duplicate this problem?

- Milestone changed from Awaiting Review to TestBP.org
- Version 1.2 deleted
The problem in the DB encoding that testbp.org uses. Not an issue with BuddyPress core anymore, but was years ago.

- Resolution set to wontfix
- Status changed from new to closed
Closing as wontfix. It's lame we used crappy DB encoding, but not worth fixing at this point, since it's not a BuddyPress bug.
After reading over the WP tickets, it looks like WP doesn't natively support Arabic usernames, so until WP supports it, BP shouldn't either.
You should be able to set an Arabic display name though (if it's any consolation).
