There should be an option to manipulate the initial message in bp_show_blog_signup_form

That text can be manipulated through a custom language pack. See ​http://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/ for more information.

Ideally, markup like this will eventually be moved out of the core and into theme files, but for the moment the language pack will work fine.
