default crop avatar selection is not working

Description
the upload is fine, but when using default crop selection, final image is different
both group avatar and user avatar same problem
user select file and upload, avatar is fine so user don't move crop box, click on crop image and then it shows up as different final selection

any picture (png/jpg) will have problem. tried two new install of wp+bp
it seem final crop selection if not moved will use upper left corner.

I've tested this recently on every browser/OS combination under the sun (don't ask - grrr) and it generally worked fine. I never experienced this particular problem. Have you verified that it happens across different platforms?

I decided test this with the new version of buddypress (1.2.7) and a new install of wordpress. The problem still there.
Steps:
Upload test image
do not move crop box
click on crop image
Default crop selection:

Notice two different crop image?

Can you give some details about the OS/browser combinations you've tested? As this is possibly a JS issue, platform is highly relevant.

The original test was on winxp/firefox (I think) and the above test was done on ubuntu and firefox 3.6.13
crazy-cat-avatar.png used for test but any picture (jpg, png) will have same problem
