I've tested this recently on every browser/OS combination under the sun (don't ask - grrr) and it generally worked fine. I never experienced this particular problem. Have you verified that it happens across different platforms?

  • Version set to 1.3

@boonebgorges

I decided test this with the new version of buddypress (1.2.7) and a new install of wordpress. The problem still there.

Steps:
Upload test image
do not move crop box
click on crop image

Default crop selection:

After clicking on crop image:

Notice two different crop image?

Can you give some details about the OS/browser combinations you've tested? As this is possibly a JS issue, platform is highly relevant.

Replying to boonebgorges:

The original test was on winxp/firefox (I think) and the above test was done on ubuntu and firefox 3.6.13
