Severity: | Version: | ||
Component: | Core | Keywords: | avatar, blog comments |

Description
Buddpress Avatars are not seen in comments in blogs.
As well as Gravatars are not working properly in Wordpress 3.
Default gravatar is always a specific type and does not change to other types on display even when changed at the admin level.
Pl. see http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/1622/grav.jpg
When users upload their own Avatar from Buddypress, these gravatar still sticks onto the blog posts and comments - and refuses to go and show the user-uploaded image instead.

I can confirm this as well. Using WP 3.0/BP 1.2.5. Avatars for groups and members seem to be either missing or the reference is now broken for them. Were working fine with WP 3.0/BP 1.2.4 and prior combinations.
In case it is a factor, our theme is a heavily modified version of the Aperture theme from Woothemes. You can see the issue in action here:

I have a similar problem. I upgraded BP to 1.2.5 from 1.2.4.1 and my avatars disappeared. I cant upload new ones to replace the existing ones.

Stumbled across this problem as well. JJJ, I know you're patching, but here's a gesture in the direction of what's wrong: http://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/displaying-user-profile/#post-61969

We have this problem on 1.2.5.2 and WP 3.0 ... would love to try a patch when it becomes available.

WPMS 3.0 and BP 1.2.5.2
I can confirm that this problem exists for all blogs on our site (including the root blog) but only in "Settings" >> "Discussion" of the Dashboard .

Like I said, this problem is only occurring for us in "Settings" >> "Discussion" of the Dashboard. So it doesn't actually show up on the blog itself, just in that section of the blog dashboard.
Can anyone confirm this?
