Description
At the website buddypress.org, there is the Message-Inbox located at the SideBar. This is very useful for the User.
Would be great to provide this feature as a Widget for the sideBar.
So that users will immediately see their Inbox-messages when they log-in.

Not sure if this functionality should be built into the core.
Perhaps as a plugin? If no one creates a plugin for this in a week or two, contact me and I'll create a widget plugin for this.
