Account settings changes email with no verification

Description

When changing the email in the account settings via bp, the email changes automatically with no verification needed, unlike doing it via the wp-admin profile area.

I think the verification is a good thing. Is this done intentionally? I'd be happy to take a look at it and contribute with a patch if not.
