1.2-rc3 works fine with WPMU. I got this when I installed the new 1.2-rc3 on a site running WP 3.0 bleeding edge:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_dtheme_show_on_frontpage() in /var/www/*.com/test/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default/home.php on line 9

Please don't use 3.0 trunk at the moment. No work has been done to support this yet.

Turns out this problem exists with WordPress 2.9 and 1.2-rc3 (it's a problem with the new default theme introduced in BuddyPress 1.2 and non-MU Wordpress)

Nothing wrong with the default theme, works fine for me on a new install. Please redownload rc3 and try again. There were some permission errors on the original zip.
