Head and blog title not displayed correctly in theme when activated on single user blogs under MU 2.9.1.1?

It is not meant to be used in this way. I suggest you create a child-theme for the hosted blogs, and override header.php.

I understand the above, but if the theme should not be used in this way, admins should be able to hide it from the appearance tab from single blog users (ticket #1830). Am I missing some reasoning here?

this does makes sense, however the bp default theme is not intended to be used as an individual member blog theme so this ticket is invalid and ticket #1830 will suffice.
