"Manage Plugins" admin page doesnt display Buddypress

Description
I'm running WP2.9.1 and have BP1.2 uploaded to mydomain/wp-content/plugins/buddypress (with all the files and subfolders within the buddypress folder) and I don't see anything in my Manage Plugins page that allows me to enable Buddypress. It's just not there...
help! I'm jonezing for BuddyPress!
