This patch looks good, apart from the activity stream posts must stay as the action "new_wire_post" to preserve the listing and filtering of old wire posts. I don't think this should cause any real problems?

(In [2343]) Remove all references to Wire component (addresses #1618). This code has been moved to backpat.
