Description
Using BP 1.2.1 and WPMU 2.9.1.1.
I've added a couple of users to the main blog as authors to make posts to the main site's blog. They can access the dashboard from site/wp-admin/ and everything functions as expected there, but from their buddypress profiles they are not affiliated with the blog (it shows 0 blogs created) and when logged in to the site the blog is not listed from the top admin bar under 'My Blogs'.
If I add the user as a site admin from /wp-admin/wpmu-options.php then the user has the blog listed in their profile and from My Blogs - but then of course it gives them full admin access to the installation.
Is it possible to add a user as an author to the main blog so that it affiliates them with the blog from their BP profile, but without having to give them full admin status?

I can attest that this happens when you add users to any blogs on the site. If they weren't a member of the blog when registering with BP, the blogs won't show up under their "My Blogs" list.
